About Us

 Sonya Whyte hails from Houston, Texas, where she was born and raised. During her high school years at Northshore Senior High School, she showcased her musical talents by playing the clarinet in the marching band. Sonya holds an Accounting Degree from the University of Houston - Downtown Marilyn Davies College of Business, accumulating over 25 years of professional experience.

The inception of SW Bookkeeping LLC DBA My Humble Bookkeeper, Inc. occurred amid the COVID-19 pandemic, seizing an opportunity arising from her CPA's evolving business model. She maintains an ongoing partnership with the firm where she embarked on her public accounting journey, gaining an introduction to the tax arena.  The primary objective of my firm is to establish the capability to work remotely, providing clients with comprehensive bookkeeping services. This focus reflects a commitment to flexibility and accessibility, ensuring that we can efficiently meet the diverse bookkeeping needs of our clients regardless of geographical constraints. Through embracing remote work practices, we aim to enhance convenience and streamline the collaboration process, ultimately delivering efficient and tailored solutions to our clientele.  Sonya is diligently working towards completing her CPA certification by the year 2025.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Sonya finds joy in spending quality time with her Army Veteran husband and their four children.
